DONOR SCREENING
Introducing our advanced Whole Exome Screening technology, specifically engineered for application in sperm and egg banks. This service represents the apex of genetic analysis, setting a new standard for comprehensive genetic health assessment vital to optimizing in vitro fertilization (IVF) processes.
Our comprehensive panel for sperm and egg donors are flexible but includes the following genes as a standard:
- CFTR, related to cystic fibrosis
- GJB2 and GJB6, related to non-syndromic genetic deafness
- HEXA, related to Tay-Sachs
- SMN1 and SMN2, related to spinal muscular atrophy
For egg donors, we extend our analysis to include X-linked recessive diseases including:
- ABCD1, related to X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy
- CHM, related to choroideremia
- COL4A5, related to Alport syndrome
- DMD, related to Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy and X-linked dilated cardiomyopathy
- EDA, related to hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia
- F8, related to hemophilia A and B
- F9, related to X-linked thrombophilia
- FHL1, related to Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy
- FMR1, related to Fragile X syndrome
- GLA, related to Fabry disease
- IDS, related to mucopolysaccharidosis type II and Hunter syndrome
- RS1, related to X-linked juvenile retinoschisis
What sets us apart is our commitment to precision and transparency. Our screening process encompasses the entire exome, providing an in-depth analysis of genetic variations crucial for donor selection. Moreover, we offer the flexibility to include or exclude specific genes from the screening panel, allowing donor banks to tailor assessments according to their requirements or local legislation.
At the heart of our service is the production of detailed reports containing comprehensive analysis results. These reports adhere to the interpretation standards set by reputable organizations such as the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) and the Association of Molecular Pathology (AMP). This ensures consistency and reliability in our assessment, empowering donor banks with actionable insights for informed decision-making.
Our Whole Exome Screening is designed to uphold the utmost safety and compatibility for individuals and families planning their parenthood.
